This much-loved masterpiece that inspired Lerner & Loewe’s musical My Fair Lady. Set in 1913, flower girl Eliza Doolittle has a chance encounter with the acerbic Professor Henry Higgins and sees an opportunity to improve her lot in life. She asks him to teach her to ‘talk proper’, but gets far more than she had planned when Professor Higgins and his friend and colleague, Colonel Pickering, decide their own outcome for her as a bet.
